The Energy You Lead With Matters

Welcome to the very first edition of The Elevate Leadership Letter. I’m grateful you’re here. My intention with each issue is simple: to create a space that feels calm, clear, and encouraging — a space where you can reconnect to what matters and rise with intention.

We’re All Building Something — But the Real Work Happens Within

A business.

A life.

A career.

A family.

A vision.

But beneath everything you’re creating, the true leadership work is happening inside of you every single day, in the clarity you choose, the energy you bring, and the way you lead yourself before you lead anyone else.

This is where I want us to begin.

We Rarely Stop to Check In With Ourselves

So many of the women I work with are running their lives and businesses from a place of constant output:

We pour out.

We push.

We plan.

We produce.

But we don’t always pause.

We don’t always breathe.

And we don’t always ask the most important question:

What do I need right now so I can show up well?

At some point, we forget that our greatest resource isn’t time or productivity — it’s our energy.

My Cancer Journey Taught Me This the Hard Way

As a two-time cancer survivor, I learned to listen to the quiet signals inside my body long before I ever coached leaders or taught lifestyle medicine.

Healing forced me into presence. It asked me to stop living in survival mode.

It reminded me that leadership starts with self-leadership.

I learned to build from presence instead of pressure.

From alignment instead of urgency.

From intention instead of fear.

And this remains one of the core foundations of how I lead — and how I teach others to lead.

Your Energy Tells the Truth

You can push through exhaustion.

You can

“just keep going."

”You can pretend to feel fine."

But your energy will always reveal what your mind tries to override.

When your energy is grounded, you make clearer decisions. When your energy is nourished, you lead more effectively. When your energy is aligned, you attract opportunities that match your capacity — not your burnout.

This is why the energy you bring into your work, relationships, health, and leadership matters more than anything else.

A Calm Nervous System Creates a Clearer Leader

You cannot build a business or a life you love from a dysregulated place.

You cannot elevate others if you’re depleted.

And you cannot rise into your next chapter if you’re ignoring the signals within your own body and spirit.

Your energy is data.

Your energy is wisdom.

Your energy is your most trustworthy compass.

Your Invitation This Week

Take one intentional pause each day.

Place a hand on your heart or your belly.

Breathe deeply.

Ask yourself:

What energy am I choosing to lead with today?

Not perfection.

Not productivity.

Not pressure.

Presence. Purpose. Leadership from the inside out.

I've got you,

Coach Mellanie
